'Fixed objects' can refer to a multitude of items, such as comments, graphics, controls, etc. They are considered 'fixed' because they are placed in a spot on the worksheet and then Excel tries to keep them in that spot. You can select the objects in a worksheet by pressing F5 to display the Go To dialog box, and then clicking Special. In the resulting dialog box click the Objects radio button and click OK. Re: Warning - 'Fixed objects will move' You may have textboxes or other objects (edit-->go to-->special-->objects to find them all) that reside in rows or columns you're trying to delete. Hi Guys, I'm having problems when trying to apply an auto filter to my data. When I select the critieria from the auto-filter drop down, on any field heading, I get this messgae 'Fixed Objects Will Move' about 18 times. Exel (fixed objects will move) and freezes Since my last microsoft upgrade, Exel ( I work all day on exel, it is my business) has a bug.Keeps displaying 'fixed objects will move'. When pressing OK nothing happens, you cant move on because everything is frozen. When I try to insert a row or column in an existing large spreadsheet, I get the warning 'Fixed objects will move' and I have to close it numerous times before I can continue. What does this mean? I am using Excel 2003.

Ok, so I am using Microsoft Excel 2010 and have a set up currently where I have 2 views expanded and deflated using the Group or +/- function. My problem is that the UI has images on the workbook, too. The images are over the cells which are to be 'hidden' when the - button is pressed and I would like the images to disappear with them. This is not curently happening, instead they are moving to the next visible cell. I have included an example below in case I wasn't clear.

I wish to hide Columns M:AU and the images are in various cells, such as N5 and O5. When I collapse (hide) the column range, all of the images move to AV5, the next row along that isn't hidden. This means the workbooks are looking messy when collapsed which is the opposite of what I was trying to do. Can anyone advise on a way around this? Atmosphere god loves ugly download.

In excel 2010 its in a different place. Once you click on size and properties and go inside you have to click on properties then choose your object positioning
