I can't decide if the quality of Baker's books have gone drastically downhill or if I've simply outgrown their storylines and writing. I think it's the former, but either way, it's a disappointment. Her last few have been almost painful to read, though this was slightly less so than The Fairy-Tale Matchmaker. The main problem I had with this one, besides overly childish dialogue and a silly plot, was that this is the same (silly) plot as at least 3 of Baker's other books. I spent the majority of..more
Princess in Disguise, by E. D. Baker, is about a girl who magic can’t touch. It’s Annie’s wedding day, and things are starting to go wrong. First Annie’s dress, and then the decorations, and soon the castle is in a mess! An unknown kingdom is outside the castle walls trying to cause a war. Annie, and her husband to be, Liam, go to get help from a powerful fairy. As Annie and Liam venture throughout kingdoms and forests they face new problems. This wonderful action filled, romantic story, draws m..more
Glad Annie and Liam got their happy ending. I don't think I'll be continuing with the series though. The first two books were so fun and adorable these last two not so much.

So fun and cute and clean. Love the fractured fairy-tales and ED Baker has so much fun writing all them into her stories. Light and breezy. Wish I had read them all back to back though, maybe when they are all done I will read them all again together.
Moral Note: Squeaky clean.
I thought this was definitely a funny book. there was a thick mist made of pea soup! I love the suspense E.D. Baker brings to life as the story unfolds..

This is the fourth book in a series that objectively should have stopped at the second book. Did I enjoy reading this book? Yes. Did this book need to exist? No. With that in mind I will continue.
In this book Annie and Liam are preparing to get married unfortunately things start to go majorly wrong. There is magic hear at work so Annie and Liam must set off to find someone who can help them. This leads them on a wild goose chase going any which way before they finally find the person that can h

This is the fourth book in the Wide Awake Princess series. It follows Annabel, sleeping beauty's sister, who is cursed so that no magic good or bad can touch her. This book begins on her wedding day when everything starts going wrong. They quickly figure out that all the fairies and witches in the kingdom are behind it and a strange army is demanding their surrender. Annabel has to sneak out of the castle, since she is the only one unaffected by the fog that is literally pea soup, and try and fi..more

215 pages. I read 2 chapters and it was ok. There was a section describing a head that seemed to be floating. There was a magic mirror and a princess who is getting married. It kind of seemed boring and I would need to read the whole book to decide if I would buy for my school. I was not really all that excited so it most likely would be an additional purchase.

Wedding plans. What princess-loving girl doesn't want to see Annie and Liam finally getting married? Everything goes all wrong. Is another witch looking to ruin Annie's special day? The pair go on a quest to reverse the flooding and pea-soup fog. Maybe Moonbeam, the fairy who gifted Annie with her impervious to magic qualities, can help save the day?
Better.Real better than the second and third book . It was good and fantastic. It is a clash between romance, fantasy, and adventure.
This book was okay. There was nothing special about it.

It was one of the best books e.d. Baker has ever written 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘

This novel, like the previous one, focused mostly on Annie’s story. I do wish there had been more fairytales intertwined in the plot, but I did enjoy the story overall.
I love the advanture in this series so enjoyable , 4.5 out of 5
Full of adventure and romance!

Wonderful
This book was amazing! I have read all the other books in this series and this has been the best by far!
Very much a filler book. No purpose really to the story.

I picked up this book because I wanted a nice and light little fantasy story to help me out with my reading slump. I feel like the short but sweet books are great for getting me to read because I just don't feel like reading some of the longer books. And this book was exactly that. Short, sweet, not too heavy on the mystery, but enjoyable. Like having a snack of cotton candy.
What I love about Annie and Liam's relationship is that it's been pretty subtle these past books, mostly told in what they

I think I'm now at the point in which I've read too many fairy tales with similar plots, or this book was a little more on the children's side then most of E. D. Baker's other books, or maybe I've just outgrown kid's books. I don't know what it is, but somehow I just didn't really enjoy this one. I guess it was because I still have some questions about this book like (view spoiler)[The fairies are mad because Annie supposedly didn't invite them? The book Princess In Disguise, by E.D. Baker is a fantasy. Princess In Disguise is about a princess undercover on a mission. She is on this mission because she finds evil magic in the castle, and is trying to find help. Annie ends up in many amazing places along the way. Annie also has magic powers which protect her, and her fiance from crazy things happening to them! As they travel through many magical places they meet very interesting, mythical creatures. Yawn.
E. D. Baker has a penchant for writing really good books, then writing sequels that get progressively more boring. And her stand-alone novel, A Question of Magic, is also a tedious read. I’ve been trying to figure out why this is.
I think part of it is due to her writing style. Princess in Disguise is very tell-heavy, with lots of similar structured sentences that make for a sort of monotone as you read them. A lot of the dialogue was about Annie and Liam discussing what they were seeing or

Annie and Liam are finally to be married, but everything around their wedding goes wrong. Once again they are off on a quest, this time to figure out why someone would want to sabotage their wedding!
It's cute, but it's ultimately forgettable. Things happened and were solved but there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Annie figured out why the king was attacking her castle, but there was no way the reader would have known and really no clues that Annie figured out either. She just . . . figu

I read this book out loud to my girls at bedtime. They got really into it and wanted to discuss what happened every night when we stopped reading. It's a really cute book that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Annie and Liam's wedding day turns into a disaster, so they postpone it and go in search of a powerful fairy to help them get rid an invading army. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, but that didn't hinder my enjoyment of this book, and it didn't give my kids any confusi

This is one of the most humorous books I have ever read. It is the fourth in a series about a princess who is not your everyday beauty.
Instead she uses her mind and her ability that magic does not work on her to make her one of the most delightful characters in fairy tales that I have ever read about.
I think Annie would make such a great friend.
In the series, Princess Annie is the younger sister of the Princess, commonly thought of as the basis for Sleeping Beauty, Gwendolyn. This time, Liam a

I read the first three a really, really long time ago..so I'm glad to be able to finally cross this off my TBR list. Like all series that I read with a large time gap in between books, I have this fear that I'll have no clue what's going on. Fortunately, my fear was unnecessary in this book because..it didn't happen! Yay!
